9 Month Well Check

Isabella had her 9 month wellness check today. She was mostly good...if no one was touching her! My little drama queen can turn it on and off like nobody's business. She weighed in at 17.5 lbs putting her in the 21%. As far as her height goes, we aren't sure because she was so wiggly. The doc said that she was growing and that is all we really need to know. Thank goodness, because if I would have laid her on that table again...yikes. She is so funny though because as soon as she was handed back to me she would stop fake crying and give the doctor or nurse a big smile. What am I going to do with this princess of mine? Also, she got a flu shot. So hopefully we are ready for the winter season. We (hopefully!) don't go back until her 1 year check up. What a big girl :(

Grammy's Birthday and Isabella at 9 Months

Today is my Mom's, aka Grammy's, birthday. We celebrated on Saturday night, and when I say Saturday night, I basically mean Saturday late afternoon! We went to Philip and Jackie's house (my brother and his wife) and were in good company with runny noses and coughs. I guess when one gets sick, they all get sick. Anyways, it was a good time! I tried to get a good picture of Grammy with all her grandkids, but this was the best I could do. And no, Isabella is not floating by Grammy's shoulder; Joe is back there holding her up!

Isabella turned 9 months on Saturday. As always she has learned and picked up so many things over the past month. She is practically a professional cruiser. Even doing it one handed now. She can stand on her own for a few seconds and can even take a few unassisted steps. Being sick last week kind of put a hault on practicing for a while. She has got the wave down for sure. Now that doesn't mean that she will do it every time you want her to. But when I noticed her waving back to the people behind the set at Good Morning, America, I knew she had it! She says Mama, but only when crying in the middle of the night. I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. She says Dada a lot more too. She loves to be read to and her current favorites are Goodnight Moon, Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? and 10 Little Ladybugs. She pays pretty close attention most of the time and will even turn the page if you prompt her by tapping it up and down with your finger. She officially has 5 teeth now, but you can only see 4 of them well. Joe "built" her a tent (ie blankets thrown over her activity mat) upstairs and she LOVES it. She likes to go inside and peek her head out and wait for you to say peek a boo. And she likes to take things like the remote, my wallet or anything else she shouldn't have and "hide" them in the tent. She thinks she is pretty darn cool. And if I say so myself, I think she is too:) Here is a funny picture I snapped of her today. I'm pretty sure she is saying, "Put down the camera and feed me Mama!!!"

Sick...again!

Isabella is sick...again. She has another cold. I swear she has to be the worst sick person in the world. When she is sick, I basically don't get to sleep. She is very much a girl in that she wants to be hugged and cuddled and basically never left alone when she is sick. Even my bathroom breaks are few and far between. Her mood started to improve yesterday and she was even playing with her toys. She really started to feel better this morning, finally sleeping through the night last night for the first time in days. Thank goodness because Mommy was running out of steam very quickly. Hopefully, she will be feeling even better later this afternoon to celebrate Grammy's birthday!

Fort Worth Fun and AHS Reunion

Boy did we have a busy weekend! Our tenant moved out of our house in Grand Prairie so we went up to clean, etc. I won't go into that because that isn't the fun part and I'm sure some of my readers are tired of hearing about it :) But here comes the fun part! Mike and Karee were kind enough to let us stay with them at their house in Fort Worth. Isabella LOVED them! They hadn't seen her since she was just a few days old, so she had obviously changed a bunch. She had so much fun with them. Mike even read her Goodnight Moon, her new favorite.

And she couldn't get enough of Karee. At dinner Karee took her for a walk around the restaurant and Isabella didn't miss me in the slightest! Back at the house we all played on the floor and again Isabella was drawn to Karee :)

On Saturday while Joe worked on the house, I got to meet up with some of my Arlington High friends for a quick bite to eat. It was so wonderful to see them and meet the babies that were born since I've been gone. It was my first time back since I left so I hadn't seen everyone for over two years :( Catching up was great, but I wish that we all could have visited for much longer.

Here is Isabella with Jacob, Erin's son, who is only 6 weeks older than Isabella. They kept holding hands- it was sooo cute! I wish you could see his eyes better in this picture- they are so beautiful.

Oh the Nguyen family! Linh and Jennifer are the sweetest people ever! And look at that cutie Matthew! He is almost exactly a year older than Isabella. At one point at lunch Jennifer asked Matthew where his girlfriend was and he pointed down the table at Isabella :) He is tooo cute! Isabella has so many boyfriends now- but we love them all!

Katherine and Mandy are my two other Musketeers. The three of us were all hired together and we have a very special bond. We went through a lot together our first year teaching at AHS. I miss these sweet girls a ton :(

And here are Erin and Casey :) Such sweeties! They were such wonderful help to me at AHS when I had no clue what I was doing (my whole first year!) :) I don't know what I would have done without them to guide me. I miss them bunches.

And all three mommies together with our babies! This was the best picture we could get. At least Matthew is looking at the camera!

Kristen got to come to lunch too, but she had to leave before the cameras came out. I should have snapped a picture of her before she had to run. I had such a great time catching up with everyone and hopefully I will see everyone again sooner rather than later.
