18 Weeks

Here is my first official belly picture of Baby #2. We took this picture at exactly 18 weeks. It is admittedly not the best picture, and I think that I actually look a bit bigger in the picture than in real life. Maybe it's the shadow behind me throwing me off. I am way done with morning sickness, thank goodness, and feeling really good. I am getting the occasional growing aches and pains, and by the end of the day I am pretty tired. But I am loving having some of my energy back :) I have been feeling the baby move for about a week and a half, maybe two- such a good, sweet feeling :) I think we may have another mover and shaker on our hands! I can actually feel baby as I write. On a good day, if I ask Isabella where Mommy's baby is, she pulls up my shirt and kisses my belly. She understands the words about a baby coming, but obviously not the concept.

She has been spending time with her new cousins Ethan (or if you ask Izzie, I-nan) and Mia, and she is sooooo good around them. She is very intrigued and wants to hug and hold them. I'm not gonna lie, we do have to watch her very closely seeing that she is very into pointing out the nose, eyes and mouth, and she needs some all around practice in being gentle, but her intentions are good, and that is what makes me think she is going to be such a good big sister! The next step is just waiting to find out if she will have a brother or a sister! We can't wait!

Wedded Bliss

Congratulations to good friends Cathy and Danny who tied the knot on Friday in a beautiful ceremony. We wish them a lifetime of happiness! This picture dosen't do justice to how beautiful she looked :)

Super Hero For the Day

We went to a Super Hero party today where the kids were supposed to dress up like their favorite super hero. Clearly, we don't have anything ourselves, so we borrowed some Batman jammies from Jack. Yes, I sent my daughter to a birthday party wearing Batman jammies. But she was so darn precious! The party was at Alamo Gymnastics. I had never heard of having a party there, but the kids had so much fun on the trampolines and in the pits.

Izzie took a while to warm up. Here she is with Uncle Phil and Luke figuring out the trampoline:

It was a matter of seconds before she had it all on her own:
(And for my dancer friends out there, she kept doing the "pony". Check it out in the picture above!)

Playing with her Uncle Jason:

In the tunnel with Jack. And yes, I crawled through the entire thing, too.

Loving the foam block pit:

Just hangin' out with Daddy!

And a group shot of the party. Notice the lack of super hero spirit :(

The kiddos had so much fun! We hope you had a great birthday Garrett!!!

Wurstfest

Every year Joe wants to go to Wurstfest in New Braunfels, and this year we actually made it. I know what you are thinking if you know me: sausage+beer=not for Carla, however sausage+beer= a VERY happy Joe Bass. So we went! It was pretty crowded and we were kind of surprised at how small the venue was.

Izzie was such a good girl. The first thing we saw inside the tent was a clown making balloon animals and hats. Balloons are a new favorite thing for Izzie, so we waited in line. She was sooo patient, waiting for about 5 kids to go before her- even Mr. Clown commented on her patience :) Well, we got her a wiener dog balloon, and I am not even kidding, 15 seconds after getting it, she popped it. It happened so fast that I didn't even get a picture! Needless to say, she was pretty sad :(

However, the funnel cake DID make her quite happy :) and Mommy too!

Joe and Izzie enjoying the river view.

And it seems like Mommy never gets to be in any shots! So here is my attempt by myself :) We may not both be looking at the camera, but at least we are both in the frame!

Fall Fun and Halloween!

I've had some of the pictures for a while now, but time just always seems to slip away, so I thought I would do one big Fall post!

Here is our trip to the pumpkin patch:

Isabella and Joe decorating the Princess Potato Head Pumpkin:

And Isabella dressed as the beautiful butterfly that she is:

We went trick or treating with Lisa, Jason and the boys. Naturally it is next to impossible to get them to all look at the same time!

Check out how Izzie is noticing the scary clown. Maybe she won't be as scared of clowns as Mommy and Daddy are (we both blame it on Poltergeist).

Izzie had so much fun and kept saying "Jump! Jump!" as we walked down the street. I'm pretty sure she jumped to most houses!

And I had to include the precious little Tigger baby Ethan!

Daddy and Izzie

And checking out what she got. She is quite disheveled at this point. Notice the hole in her knee. With all that jumping, she was bound to fall at least once!

And naturally the next morning she insisted on wearing her costume again! This is why I had to hide it prior to Halloween! I'm afraid it may become a regular in her rotation of clothes!
