2 Weeks!

I can't believe Andrew is already 2 weeks old! I feel like we just got home from the hospital! He had his two week check up today, and I am so excited to say that he has gained all his weight back and then some. At his 5 day old check up he had gotten down to 5 lbs, 13 oz. But today he is a hefty 6 lbs, 9 oz ! He may be little, but I'll fatten him up in no time :)

I never did this with Isabella, so I decided to jump on the whole "picture by the stuffed animal" bandwagon. I was always sad that I never did it with her, so I'm going to make an attempt to be good about it with Andrew.

So here is Andrew at 2 weeks old! At least his eyes are open!

And although he totally fell over in this one, I like it because it's as if he is saying, "Aw...I love you monkey man!"

Andrew's First Bath

It was a family effort...

I think this guy thought he was at a day spa or something! He slept the whole time!

Not ready to get out!

Andrew's Arrival!

As most of you all know by now, Mr. Andrew decided to make an early appearance! He was born April 14th at 9:08 pm. I started having regular contractions so we headed to the hospital. I was afraid that they were going to send us home, so I told Joe to leave everything (including the camera) in the car. Well to make a long story short, once I was hooked up to all of the monitors, they realized that Andrew was in distress and they were going to do an emergency c-section. Luckily, my OB was on call that night. I really believe God had a hand in that :) It all happened so quickly, and we were both so scared for our baby boy, that Joe didn't even have time to go to the car and get the camera. So, unfortunately we don't have many of the traditional shots that I would have loved to have gotten.

But here is the first picture of him in the nursery, before I even got to hold the little guy. At birth he was 6lbs 2oz and 20 inches.

My parents and sister and Joe's dad came to the hospital when Joe called to tell them about the emergency c-section. And Brenda (Mimi) was already with Izzie at home. It was really good to come out of surgery and see their faces and know that Izzie was happy and safe at home.
The next morning, Izzie came to meet her baby brother whom she had heard so much about. She knew exactly who he was the moment she saw him. And yes, I am totally aware of how completely hot I look in these pictures. Don't be jealous of my beauty- I had been through a lot, both physically and emotionally!
And we had many visitors in the hospital.

And another shot of my sweet, sweet boy. So far, he is such a good baby. He was so quiet in the hospital, literally only making little squeaks when he was hungry. He is already so different from Izzie who cried about everything :) We are just so happy that he is here and is safe. I never saw all of this coming. Everything about this labor and delivery was different than Izzie's. I thought for sure I would end up being induced, but this little guy just wanted to make a big, scary entrance. I told him that he had scared me enough to last for a while, so no more! And does anyone remember that about a week before my ultrasound to find out the gender, I dreamt that he was a boy and that he was coming out of a slit in the side of my stomach instead of the traditional way? I guess it was a sign that I didn't take too seriously.
And I have to say thank you to all of your sweet messages and calls and dinners and everything! We feel so blessed and loved to have so many people wanting to help take care of us while I recover. Joe has also been amazing in this recovery process, but I know that he is so glad that I am actually beginning to feel like myself again, and able to move around much easier.
More pictures soon to come!

Easter

Easter was a very busy, yet very fun day for us. The Easter bunny visited Isabella and brought her a few goodies; her favorite being The Princess and the Frog (very cute if you haven't seen it!)

Hunting for eggs in our backyard. We only had about 12 and after she found them all she kept asking for more, so Joe would throw them behind his back so she could keep finding them :)

Later we headed to Grammy and Papi's. The kids did an egg hunt, which lasted about 2.2 seconds, hence the lack of pictures. But they also had a pinata which was really fun. Isabella got to go first, and I had to include the progression of pictures of her turn.

Lets just say that she didn't like it. She can normally hang with the boys, but this was a little too much for her. Jack loved it...
And Luke and Brandon were naturals at it since they recently started Tball. Here is Luke...

And Brandon...

So... the pinata was very well built and Uncle Phil had to step in...

Lets just say that some of the toys inside were broken by the time he was done!

Izzie was just fine with her bubble and lollipop, though. One thing for each hand and she was happy :)

And we were glad to have Granny and Grandma there too!

And even later, we headed to Mimi and PawPaw's for more Easter fun! Here is Isabella hunting for eggs with PawPaw.

And discovering what's inside with Mimi.

Aunt TT was kind enough to give Joe and Isabella a ride...

but then wanted one in return!

Sew Busy!

Here are some things I've made for Andrew. I started out with burp cloths and some taggie lovies for Ethan and Mia, but these are the things I am most proud of. I found tutorials on some craft blogs, and simply followed instructions. They were easy projects, but I'm still pretty proud of myself :)

Here is a receiving blanket that I found here. Pretty cute, huh?

And a diaper clutch that also serves at a changing pad. Found it here. I modified it a bit though because I was afraid of the velcro- so I did a ribbon instead. I thought the change was pretty cute.

That's all! It's been fun, but I have a feeling that my crafting during naptime is soon to be short lived. But I'm totally fine with that!
