The Funniest Thing

I have been waiting for months now to hear Izzie laugh. Not just an amused, single-sounded laugh; she does that all the time. What I wanted was a can’t stop laughing, funnier than funny, seriously- my mom has got to be a comedian type of laugh. This is something that Jack (my sister’s son, only 10 days older) has been doing for forever. There have been times where Izzie has wanted to laugh really hard, but it almost seemed like she couldn’t figure out quite how to get it out. I was starting to think that maybe my sister was funny, but I just wasn’t.

But today it happened! We were walking around Target and in order to keep her entertained, I pretended to eat her feet. This is something that is practiced daily, but for some reason today, she just fell to pieces. To her it was the funniest thing. Hearing that precious, honest laugh was the sweetest sound I have ever heard. Had we not been in Target, I’m pretty sure that I would have cried. I can’t wait to hear it again.
