Isabella's Ear Piercing
Well, we finally did it! After weeks of contemplating and going back and forth, I finally decided to get Isabella's ears pierced. We did it last Wednesday, and I have to say that it was quite an experience. Tuesday night was a rough one for us, so the day was off to a kind of rocky start. But it was just one of those things that if I didn't do it that day, I probably would have put it off for a few more weeks. Unfortunately, our pediatrician doesn't do ear piercings so our next resort was, you guessed it...Claire's. I felt pretty good about taking her there since I knew several people that I trusted had taken their daughters there too. My sister, Lisa, and her boys, Brandon and Jack, went with us for moral support (which was much needed!). Once we arrived at Claire's, Isabella took one look at the manager and started screaming. Something about her really scared Isabella, even though I'm not sure what it was! Once we calmed down and picked out some earrings, they cleaned and preped Isabella's ears (sounds like surgery right?). When it was time for the actual piercing, they had me restrain her, since she obviously couldn't sit still on her own. She really didn't like being restrained. In fact, I'm pretty sure that was the worst part for her. She kept looking at me like, "why are you holding me like this mommy?" But once it was all said and done, I was really glad that we did it. She looks so precious. Maybe now people will stop asking what sex she is!
