Well, I have to say that things are going pretty well. Today is day four in our Learning to Sleep Curriculum and our dear little student is sitting at B+. Naps since Friday have all been the same. I put her to bed and leave the room. She may fuss, but that only lasts for literally a minute. Sometimes she plays for a good 30-40 minutes before falling asleep, but she always falls asleep and stays asleep for a good nap. It has been great- giving me more time to do things around the house, or even Yea! read a book :) I had a doctor's appointment this morning and my mom had to put her down for a nap. Same thing: Tiny fuss and she fell asleep and stayed asleep for almost 2 hours.
Bedtime hasn't been as consistent, which is where I would prefer the consistency. As you know, the first night was amazing! Saturday night, not so great. In fact, pretty bad. I put her to bed with the regular routine around 8:15. She went straight to sleep. I heard her fuss for a second around 9:30, but she must have been dreaming because that was it. Great! I had high hopes. Oh, but then 1am rolled around. To make a VERY long story short, we, Isabella and I, were up from 1-3. That's where the B+ comes in. It was a tough 2 hours, but I did not take her out of her crib. And oh, how I wanted to! She was so good at first, not even asking me to pick her up. She would just curl in a little ball, but towards the end of the 2 hours, her little up-stretched arms were breaking my heart.
Last night though was as great, no it was better, than the first night. She went to bed at about 8:15, and not once did I have to go back in there. She fell right asleep and slept until 7:30. I have to say that I am so proud of her. I'm sure it is totally confusing, but she has taken so well to it that I don't really feel bad about it like I thought I would. I'm just crossing my fingers that our hard work will pay off and it will stick!
